Garlicky Broccolini
Garlicky broccolini is a quick and easy veggie side dish — set in merely 10 minutes — and a groovy recipe for trying a simple but delicious manner to savour broccolini.
Have you ever tried broccolini?
I think it's a pretty fun vegetable. It's just fun to say fifty-fifty, don't you recollect? My three-year-old does at least. 😉
Information technology's also a yummy vegetable and an easy ane to work into your repertoire. Information technology comes in a pocket-sized agglomeration – only actually plenty for 2-3 people, assuming you practice really like it – and information technology cooks upward quickly.
It has smaller florets than broccoli and longer stems, which are succulent and should be eaten. (No worries; they aren't every bit fibrous and tough equally broccoli stems.)
Technically, broccolini is a mix between broccoli and a Chinese leaf vegetable that looks a chip like kale. A bit of a mash-up.
And so, yeah, it's delicious and nutritious and all the good things.
Plus, it's a squeamish step away from the standard broccoli, green beans and peas rotation I tend to find myself in for vegetable side dishes.
For broccolini, I like to steam it a bit, then sauté it (in the same pot, to keep clean-up piece of cake) with some garlic and season with table salt and pepper. Very unproblematic only adds great flavour.
Plus, I ever accept those things on hand, and then anytime I pick up some broccolini at the shop, I'grand good to go. Gotta honey recipes like that.
Just a annotation on texture: You all the same desire a chip of seize with teeth – no overcooked or mushy broccolini here – simply it should soften plenty to brand it un-crunchy (yeah, that's a word hither, go with it).
The whole procedure notwithstanding only takes about 10 minutes, which makes it an piece of cake go-to side dish for whatsoever night of the week.
And if yous need other side dish inspiration, check out Parmesan roasted broccoli and light-green beans with mustard butter sauce. Or check out company carrots for an old classic recipe that'southward keen at holidays and special occasions.
So many veggies, and then little time.
And if you haven't already, you should definitely give broccolini a try. I call up it'll make information technology into your regular veggie side dish rotation.
Happy cooking and bask!
XO,
Kathryn
